my stomach is hatin' meeeeeee...
owwwwww! i have a tummy ache. all night last night and still this morning. i guess it's heated salami overload. ya think? and i know it has to do with the heating too because do you know how many parties i've been to where i've hovered over the salami roll plate consuming endlessly and never had an ache?
well, i'm officially turning over a new leaf on food—that is, now that i helped my son clean out a small popcorn at the movies a few hours ago. and maybe there is just one other thing...
i know i've been saying i'm not into sweets right now, which i'm usually obsessed with, but last night i did take a nip of my husband's hidden scharffenberger limited edition handmade Jamaica ā l'ancienne bar, right before my stomach freaked out. he's been saying he bought the "best chocolate in the world"—this coming from a man who has NO real love for sweets. i haven't even bothered to try it or ask about it. it just hasn't sounded good. and i'm not a huge fan of dark chocolate, not that this ever stops me generally.
but last night, i had a teeny tiny sweets inkling, so i asked him where it was. "in the spice cabinet," he said. "what? why?" i asked. "i was hiding it from you." after one small bite, i was like, "ehh, it's good, but you didn't have to hide it from me. i'm not even that big a fan of dark chocolate."
but then, seconds later, the flavor and the glory set in. they crush up jamaican cacao beans in it and use coarse cane sugar for this amazing crunch and texture. and the chocolate, the deep, dark chocolate only gets better after you swallow (and apparently if you age it too, but who has that kind of willpower?). oh my god, amazing... of course, i'm eating a little now so i can better describe it to you. isn't that nice of me?
so if you know any big chocolate fanatics, get them while they last. limited edition, you know...
soon i will talk about something other than food. i swear! like about how i had this dream where these strange man twin beings told me i was having a girl.
thanks for all the comments, by the way. this is so much fun!
craving of the day: the scharffenberger limited edition handmade Jamaica ā l'ancienne bar. honey, if you know what's good for you, hide that second bar! and sorry in advance about the first one...

I don't believe you. Dark chocolate isn't that glorious. It just isn't. It's beautiful food, but it ain't no beard papa cream puff.

Oh god, I'm 9 weeks and nauseous and would lose my cookies over every single thing you are eating. How do you do it woman? I love dark chocolate, I have a cupboard full of great, expensive single origin dark chocolate, and I don't even want it, haven't for weeks, though I'm telling the hubby to try out your treat and save me some for 7 months from now. Dark chocolate and well aged tawny port is our we just had a baby celebration. Last time we added chocolate truffles too, which I think is why it took so long to lose that baby weight. I ate truffles for almost a month.
